Happy New Year … Welcome to 2022. I trust you enjoyed this time with family and friends. The holidays were dampened by the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus, keeping some of us from our original travel plans. But it didn’t stop VALERIE NUNES ATKINSON and her son GARRETT and daughter DANICA from flying off for a Hawaiian holiday. They might run into LAURIE & LARRY FENNER and ELIZABETH & ROBERT NELSON, who are also vacationing on the Hawaiian islands. Hawaii is a great honeymoon destination for many couples, and MADDIE GOSS might consider that now that she has become engaged to KEVIN FARRAGE. Congratulations from all of us at DOG NEWS. ...
Sisters HONI & CAROL REISMAN have been cruising Central America (no, no, no, on a ship, silly). While most of us are taking a long-overdue break from dog shows, JASON HOKE was off to judge the FCI dog show in Budapest. ...
The American Kennel Club has announced the hiring of CAMILLE BAKKER as the newest and 12th field representative. She has bred and owned Italian Greyhounds and Bichon Frises. CAMILLE will be based in Northern California, where she currently resides. We wish her good luck in her new position. ...
The tall blonde selling everything from canvas poop-bag holders to garment bags, PAT IJMANS, missed the big AKC Orlando week, owing to a gallbladder attack. PAT was hospitalized in Orlando and underwent successful surgery. She is now at home recuperating. PAT and the recently retired BARBARA OHMANN were the two ladies at the AKC booth at the dog shows that had the unofficial tag line of “I can sell anything that’s big enough to stamp an AKC logo on.” BARBARA was called back into service to work the booth at the AKC show in place of PAT. We all missed PAT and hope that she is feeling better. ...
We were sorry to hear that DON FONTANELLE passed away. DON and RUTH PERIERA were well known in the Boxer and Brussels Griffon worlds. They were also benefactors of the ANGELS ON A LEASH benefits. Our deepest sympathies to RUTH and the family. BETH SWEIGART & PETER GREEN hosted a Christmas Eve party at their Pennsylvania home. There was lots of bubbly being poured and fortunately some Johnnie Walker Black. Among the guests were PETER’S three children –sons ANDREW & AMY GREEN, RICHARD GREEN and daughter MELANIE & SCOTT KLENAS and their sons IAN & DYLAN – MARTI & MICHAEL PAWASARAT, PAM & JOHN BEALE, DAVID FITZPATRICK, ERNEST LARA, LETISHA & CARLOS DE LA TORRE and CARLITOS DE LA TORRE.
