The lingering threat of the Covid-19 virus kept many away from the CRUFTS DOG SHOW this past week. Especially absent were the many Americans who normally attend this four-day event. Among those who attended were DAVID FITZPATRICK, CHESLIE & JUSTIN SMITHEY, BARBARA ANDERSON, LANE KENT, DAVID KETTIG, DENNIS SPRUNG, SHIRLEY & MARK DUNN, PETER GREEN and BETH SWEIGART. Sadly, BETH had what all of us fear when we travel: a positive Covid-19 test, which prevented her from returning home on Tuesday. She has to spend an additional 10 days in England until she can return home. This did put a damper on what was a wonderful trip we were enjoying. ...
The dog show, which always amazes me with its size and popularity, was especially enjoyable after a two-year absence. Best in Show judge STUART PLANE selected the Flat Coated Retriever as his Best in Show dog, which was met with thunderous applause. The Best in Show trophy presenter was the well-known benefactor to CRUFTS, the DRIFFIELD CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW president THE LORD GRAHAM KIRKHAM. GRAHAM was visiting Windsor Castle the following morning to be bestowed with yet another title by QUEEN ELIZABETH. ...
