Last week we mentioned some musicals that are on or about to play on Broadway. This week we will mention some straight plays, for our more serious theatergoers.

Two well-known actors, PETER GALLAGHER and JULIANNA MARGUILES (The Good Wife), star in LEFT ON TENTH, taken from the DELIA EPHRON memoir about love lost and love found.

Another famous duo of actors can be seen in THE ROOMMATE starring multiple Tony Award winner PATTI LUPONE, whose Broadway resume is pages long (EVITA, COMPANY, SWEENEY TODD, WAR PAINT, THREE SISTERS, MASTER CLASS, WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, to name a few), playing opposite MIA FARROW of ROSEMARY’S BABY fame. A unique pairing of a savvy Manhattanite and shy, unsophisticated Iowa divorcee.

JOB, a play about a woman who has a public breakdown and her therapist, stars PETER FRIEDMAN and SYDNEY LEMMON.

HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD is based on a J.K. ROWLING story

ROMEO & JULIET, the Shakespeare classic, with KIT CONNOR and RACHEL ZEGLER, is another limited run, but you can get in under the wire, as it closes on February 16.

Certainly one of the most anticipated arrivals will be the Broadway debut of actor GEORGE CLOONEY, who will bring his play version of the 2005 film GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK, about broadcaster EDWARD R. MURROW. Previews begin on March 20, and opening night is set for April 16. I mention it now as a heads-up because it is a limited run, and it will close on July 16.
