MORRIS & ESSEX might have started slow but the pace picked up to a great ending. It was the start of a five show weekend that held its excitement to the very end of the Montgomery County All Terrier show. Even the weather cooperated and was perfect for the entire weekend without a drop of rain. Actually, the weather was unseasonably hot. I don't know if it was politically motivated or not but there didn't seem to be many overseas visitors this year. I was glad that our Canadian friends had no problem crossing the border. Among the faithful were GEOFF CORISH and his American sidekick BARBARA ANDERSON who looked great following a year of ill health. I did see terrier man RICHARD ALLEN ringside. It was great to see many old friends, especially IVONNE RANGEL whose long battle with covid has kept her away from the dog shows for a while. Making the last appearance as a professional handler, terrier expert SANTIAGO PINTO retired at Montgomery. SANTIAGO will be applying to judge in the near future. All of use at DOG NEWS wish him all the best. Capping off the the weekend was Monday afternoon spent at POOL FORGE the former home of the WILLIAM WIMERS III, that is now a state park. It was also where PETER GREEN worked privately for the WIMERS before going out on his own as a professional handler. Friends gathered to commemorate the WIMER’S long association with pure bred dogs and PETER who piloted the WIMER’S Sealy bitch BINNY to a WESTMINSTER best in show win. JON BANNON and PETER’S granddaughter GILLIAN organized this festive occasion to unveil a sculpture of BINNY carved by a local artist and a commemorative plaque with PETER and BINNY. Great to see the entire GREEN FAMILY with GAYNOR, DEBBIE, RICHARD & KIM, ANDREW & AMY and MELANIE with some of their respective families along with the “GREEN TEAM” ERNESTO LARA (Still smiling coming off his Montgomery best in show win), CARLOS & LETISHA DE LA TORRE and PAM BEALE, LISA CROFT-ELLIOTT, BOBBY & KAKI FISHER, MICHAEL & MARTI PAWASARAT, GABRIEL RANGEL, BILL MCFADDEN, ROZ KRAMER, MARI-BETH O’NEILL, LEONARDO GARCINI, RC & HAILEY CARUSI, JIMMY DICKSON, MICHAEL & MICHELLE SCOTT, FRANK DEPAULO, JAN RITCHIE GLADSTONE, KATHERINE WRIGHT, GEORGE WRIGHT, TODD & APRIL CLYDE, PHIL & HEIDI HARTMAN BOOTH, PAUL & CRYSTAL CLAS, KATE MURRAY, DAVID FITZPATRICK, KELLIE FITZPATRICK, PATTY KEENAN, SIMON SIMAAN, ERICA & RACHEL VENIER.
