Dog-show desert, Sheryl Crow entertains some heartened fanciers ...

This is what was the traditional WESTMINSTER KENNEL CLUB week that included many specialty shows and other related events. Since the beginning of the year, there have only been two weekends of shows held in Springfield. With all the jockeying of dates and venues, it’s no wonder everything is so lopsided. The AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION’S GO RED FOR WOMEN affair held last weekend at JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER was red hot, with red being the operative word/color, as the evening celebrated WOMEN IN RED. The guests were greeted by the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION CEO NANCY BROWN and her husband GARY, and entertained by award-winning singers RITA ORA and SHERYL CROW, who was far from Santa Monica Boulevard. Among the guests were American Kennel Club president DENNIS SPRUNG with DAWN SEARS, JD & TARA MARTIN ROWELL, SUSAN MALZONI, LORRIE CARLTON, LARRY LETSCHE, D. SCOTT PFEIL and JAMES DONAHUE.
