All of us at DOG NEWS, especially this writer, were very saddened to hear that RON SCOTT has passed away. RON’S name was linked to many top-winning dogs in several breeds, but none as much as the JIM & ANNIE CLARK-bred Miniature Poodle, Ch. Surrey Spice Girl, the 2002 Westminster Kennel Club Best in Show winner under the late EVERETT DEAN owned by RON and his former wife BARBARA handled by KAZ HOSAKA, who piloted several other dogs of RON & DEBBIE SCOTT to outstanding show records. RON was a loyal friend and huge supporter of DOG NEWS, and we shall miss his friendship. We send our deepest sympathies and love to his wife DEBBIE and their families. ...

One of our oldest friends in the sport, KEKE KAHN, has passed away. Our paths met when she was KEKE BLUMBERG from Pennsylvania and her handler was the talented and much missed EMILY GUNNING, who retired from handling and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband SEAN. Always smiling with a magnetic personality, she started her judging career. Recently retired because of health issues, she retired as one of the handful of all-breed judges. Her skills were much in demand, and she judged many national specialties and major dog shows around the country. We send our deepest sympathies to her family. ...
