The AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB has announced the recipients of the 2022-2023 Veterinary Scholarships, which are broken up into five monetary divisions. The students include TRESSA REINER in the amount of $10,000. Those receiving $7,500 are DANIELLE HEIDER and SAMUEL JOHNSON. Those receiving $5,000 are HAILEY ADLER, DIANA CHAN, CLAUDIA SWAGNER and JORDAN TARBUTTON. Those students receiving $3,000 are BROOKE-TAYLOR DOMINELLO, ALLISON FRAPPIER, MEGAN MACINTYRE, NATALIE SANTOS and ASHLEY WRIGHT. Those students receiving $2,000 are MEGAN ALLEN, NICOLE HALFPOP, COLLEEN KUTZLER, BRITTANY PAPA, ANNA TARPEY and SAMANTHA SCOTT. The total of $70,000 is awarded to those students who have a background in American Kennel Club events as well as scholastic achievements. They have very deservedly been rewarded for their good works, and all of us at DOG NEWS congratulate them and wish them continued good luck. ...

KAREN was well known for her successful English Springer Spaniels and English Toy Spaniels bred under the Loujon prefix, a kennel name she inherited from JOHN GREENO. Married to DR. MILTON PRICKETT until his untimely death and the owner of two-time Westminster Kennel Club Best in Show winner Ch. Chinoe’s Adamant James, handled by CLINT HARRIS, KAREN was always very professional and hard to get to know. But once you cracked that veneer, you found a bright and intelligent woman who had a great understanding of the sport and the dogs entrusted to her care. As a longtime English Toy Spaniel breeder and exhibitor, I always marveled at how she could get them to show with such showmanship and confidence. ...
