More recommendations for Westminster week: For those among us who enjoy museums, New York City is home to more than 170 of them. The most popular and well known are the METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART (THE MET), MUSEUM OF MODERN ART (MOMA), MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY and the WHITNEY MUSEUM. But there are others less known, like the MUSEUM OF THE MOVING IMAGE, which chronicles the history of film and television and is located in the Astoria Studios in Queens; the MUSEUM OF SEX (that’s pretty self-explanatory); THE MUSEUM OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK; THE FRICK COLLECTION, hosted in the fabulous Fifth Avenue townhouse of the Frick Family, and of course the AKC MUSEUM OF THE DOG, housed at 101 Park Avenue South, also home of the American Kennel Club’s headquarters. The museum will be open at Westminster time, and you should visit — great works of dog art are on display, many donated by friends from around the country. It’s an institution that should be supported, and it shows our sport to the world. If all these museums aren't enough, there are more than 2,000 local cultural venues and more than 500 art galleries for your viewing enjoyment. ...
