10 Questions ...

Profession: Retired

Dog-sport involvement: AKC judge, occasional exhibitor

Hometown: Downey, California

Astrological sign: Aries

1. Do you have any dog show superstition?

Not to my knowledge.

2. TV-show guilty pleasure?

Oh, my. The ID channel. I don’t normally watch TV, but crime intrigues me. I can watch it for hours

3. If you were president of AKC for one day, what would you do?

My direction would be focused on judges soliciting assignments. This has been a major peeve for me, and I am sure for many other others of my era. It might be considered micromanagement, but it should be addressed, IMHO. There are several other issues, but bringing back some dignity to judges is being overlooked.

4. Most valued material possession?

I have two: Kenny White and my Frenchie “Hers.” I owe them both so much.

5. What is something no one would guess about you?

LOL. That I am rather shy and introverted.

6. Who would you compare yourself to?

No one. I feel my loyalty to friends and my integrity are my own and make me who I am, myself. I am not one to compare.

7. What are you famous for?

I am not sure if anything. I have never done anything for recognition.

8. What website do you visit most often?

The AKC judges directory and Canine College.

9. What was more memorable, your most satisfying win or disappointing defeat? And what was it?

The St. Bernard Club of the Pacific Coast many years ago. I believe I still co-owned a German import at the time, Ch. Figaro von Haus Steinbach, and his Best of Breed win under the famous Albert De La Rie. His daughter was WB right next to her dad the same day. It was a very memorable day.

10. What do you wish someone would ask you?

What’s your stand inside and outside the ring? Regarding friends and handlers.
