Profession: Retired from Mill Ridge Farm (thoroughbred horse farm), 30-plus years

1. Do you have any dog-show superstitions?  

 I never wore red or changed show leads during a dog’s career.

2. TV-show guilty pleasure?

“Judge Judy” and “Keeping Up Appearances.”

3. If you were president of AKC for one day, what would you do?  

Expand AKC involvement in their continued support of our Junior handlers. Update the AKC website to be more user friendly.

4. Most valued material possession?

A Harold Newtown original Florida Highwaymen painting.

5. What is something no one would guess about you?

I watch reruns of Lawrence Welk shows.

6. Who would you compare yourself to?

I have many accomplished great friends — many of whom I greatly admire for all they do — but I do not compare myself to any of them.

7. What are you “famous” for?

Dog Writers Association of America winner for “Junior Showmanship: From Hand to Lead.”

8. What website do you visit most often?

Infodog and Canine Chronicle.

9. What was more memorable, your most satisfying win or disappointing defeat? And what was it?

Winning Winners Dog out of the American Bred class for a five-point major under Mary Nelson Stephenson at my first AKC dog show. A loss is a loss — it is never easy.

10. What do you wish someone would ask you?

“Let’s take a trip to Crufts!”
