1. Do you have any dog-show superstitions?
I won't wear red, mostly because I don't like the color. That's about it. I'm just not a superstitious person.
2. TV-show guilty pleasure?
“The Voice,” and I have binge-watched “Suits” and “Peaky Blinders” TWICE.
3. If you were president of AKC for one day, what would you do?
I would just allow breeder/owners to show in the 4-6 Month puppy competition with no restrictions. And I would let litters be registered with a litter pedigree certificate that actually showed the health clearances and titles. Not just a plain white paper with their names. I know you can buy the certified, but I work hard at those clearances and titles. Pet or not, each pup in a litter should go home with one of those.
4. Most valued material possession?
The beautiful, amazing bronze that Fan Yu did of Maya and Cinder after winning the Best in Show Sweeps at Santa Barbara. I treasure the memory and the bronze.
5. What is something no one would guess about you?
I used to foal 40 thoroughbred mares a year. I love to foxhunt overseas, and I'm shy. Honestly.
6. Who would you compare yourself to?
Cher. LOL. I want to be like my mom.
7. What are you “famous” for?
Border Terriers and my chili.
8. What website do you visit most often?
Allrecipes and Kalyn's Kitchen.
9. What was more memorable, your most satisfying win or disappointing defeat? And what was it?
Most definitely, my Group 2 at Westminster with Meadowlake Dark Side of the Moon under Geir Flyckt-Pedersen. A memory I will always cherish.
10. What do you wish someone would ask you?
For help. With showing, grooming or advice on our amazing breed. I am always there to help anyone who needs it. Or: “What remote island can I buy you?”
