1. Do you have any dog-show superstitions?  
Absolutely. The lucky leash is the one you have won on. If you get a new leash... look out!

 

2. TV-show guilty pleasure?

Ru Paul’s Drag Race

 

3. If you were president of AKC for one day, what would you do?  

Disallow registration of dogs color disqualifications. No more registering albino Dobermans or merle Frenchies.

The fact that they can be registered makes them “rare.”

 

4. Most valued material possession?

My cello. When she behaves.

 

5. What is something no one would guess about you?

My purebred journey started with Dobermans in Schutzhund.

Well, I guess it is formerly known as Schutzhund. I think it is now VPG? Or something like that. 

 

6. Who would you compare yourself to?
Mae West. I’m not explaining.

 

7. What are you “famous” for? 

My roving reporter duties at the AWC National and I’m that person with, “the stripey boys.”

 

8. What are your thoughts on Social Media?
I love it and hate it. I love being able to share photos of food and dogs. And I love staying connected to friends that are far away. But... I fecking HATE that anyone can post anything, regardless of truth or sources or anything. I think it is the single most destructive force right now. 

 

9. What was more memorable, your most satisfying win or disappointing defeat?  And what was it?

  Defeats suck, but I get over them quick. Mostly. Most memorable are the most satisfying wins! My first Whippet specialty win might be my most memorable ever. It was in 2023 and I wasn’t expected to win. I had never shown to that judge. (Breeder judge Jan Swayze.) The number 1 Whippet was there.  My young male special was already in the top 20 in breed points, but I had no idea we were going to win that specialty and you could have blown me over with a feather!

 

10. What do you wish someone  would ask you?
If I would like to travel the world with them. The answer is yes!
